Requirements for Car Rentals
Renter qualifications:
The renter must:
- Be at least 23 years old, with a driver’s license issued at least one year prior, for vehicle categories A, B, C1, Cd, D, D2, D4, Dd, E1, E2, J, J1, and J2. For all other categories, they must be over 25 years old, with the driver’s license issued at least 3 years prior.
- Possess a Greek, European (for EU countries), or International (for non-EU countries) driver’s license
At the time of vehicle pickup, the renter must have:
- A valid legal driver’s license.
- Upon vehicle pickup, the Renter Agreement of Rental, which should be checked and signed by the renter. The Rental Agreement will outline all the services/insurances provided, as well as any additional services/insurances requested by the renter, with corresponding charges.
- It is very important for the renter during pickup to inspect the vehicle and report any existing damages to avoid being charged for previous rental damages.
Terms for Car Rental:
Fuel Policy
The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as it was received. Otherwise, the renter will be charged for the missing quantity plus 20€.
Fines & Administrative Penalties
Fines and administrative penalties resulting from violations during the rental period are solely the responsibility of the renter.
Cancellations
In case of cancellation of a reservation made by the renter through the website, within less than 48 hours from the scheduled rental date, BrosCars reserves the right to request the prepayment amount from the renter or withhold the reservation prepayment.
No refunds are made for reservations during July and August.
Absence during Pickup:
If the renter does not pick up the vehicle on the agreed day and time without prior written or telephone notification, BrosCars will cancel the reservation after 3 hours and retain the entire payment amount as compensation.
Transport by Ferry
Loading of cars onto a ferry without written approval/consent from BrosCars is prohibited. In case of vehicle transport by ferry necessity, the renter must inform BrosCars upon vehicle pickup, otherwise BrosCars may impose additional charges.
Vehicle Damage
In case of mechanical failure or accident, the renter is obligated to immediately transport the vehicle to the location indicated by BrosCars at their own expense if the vehicle cannot be moved by roadside assistance.
Extension of Rental
If the renter wishes to keep the rented vehicle for a longer period than agreed, they must contact the BrosCars branch from which the vehicle was picked up to inquire about the possibility and note the extension of the rental in the Rental Agreement.
Payment Methods
The prepayment can be made via bank transfer or credit card. Full payment can be made in cash or by credit card. BrosCars accepts most credit cards such as Visa, American Express, Mastercard. VAT is included in the prices for all car rentals.
Car Rental without a Credit Card
Car rental without a credit card is only possible with the option of full coverage insurance and full prepayment upon pickup. A cash deposit may also be required depending on the case. Also, this does not apply to renting vehicles of certain categories.
The company reserves the right to request a credit card even in cases not described above.
Car Insurance Policy
Basic Package Insurance Requirements & Coverage:
- Third-party liability insurance
- Theft and fire insurance
- Comprehensive insurance with deductible (C.D.W)
- Free roadside assistance.
Deductible Amounts for Basic Package (Provided as deposit upon pickup)
- 500.00€ for categories A, B
- 700.00€ for category C
- 1,000.00€ for category D
- 1,500.00€ for category F
Full Package Insurance Requirements & Coverage:
All our cars provide the option of full insurance without driver liability covering all repair expenses in case of an accident. The above insurance is optional and can be selected during the reservation or rental process. The cost depends on the vehicle category chosen.
*The insurance DOES NOT COVER DAMAGES:
- Involving key destruction, glass and light breakage, mirrors and crystals, underbody hits, damages to tires, and any interior vehicle damages.
- Resulting from violations of the Traffic Code (KOK).
- When the driver causes an accident under the influence of narcotics or alcohol.
- If the driver of the vehicle is not authorized as a driver in the rental agreement.
- If the renter does not take all necessary precautions for safe parking and locking of the vehicle.
- If the vehicle is illegally parked.
- Resulting from driving the vehicle on an unsuitable road.
