Requirements for Vehicle Rentals
In order to rent a vehicle, the Renter must:
- Be at least 21 years old, with a driving licence that was issued at least one year prior, for vehicle categories A, B, C1, Cd, D, D2, D4, Dd, E1, E2, J, J1 and J2. For all other categories, the Renter must be over 25 years old and the driving licence must have been issued at least 3 years prior.
- Hold a Greek, European (for EU countries) or International (for non-EU countries) driving licence.
At the time of vehicle collection, the Renter must have with them:
- A valid driving licence.
- Upon collection of the vehicle, the Renter will be provided with the Rental Agreement, which must be checked and signed. The Rental Agreement will specify all services / insurance coverage provided, as well as any additional services / insurance coverage requested by the Renter, together with the corresponding charges.
- It is very important that, upon collection, the Renter checks the vehicle and reports any existing damage in order to avoid being charged for damage from a previous rental. Upon return, the Renter will be solely responsible for any damage or missing items that were not recorded in the Rental Agreement, even if such damage occurred in parking areas (supervised or unsupervised).
Terms for Vehicle Rental & Use:
Absence at Collection:
If the Renter does not collect the vehicle on the agreed date and time without prior written or telephone notification, Bros Cars will cancel the booking after 3 hours have elapsed and retain the full amount paid as compensation.
Fuel Policy
The vehicle must be returned with exactly the same fuel level as when it was collected. Otherwise, the Renter will be charged the equivalent value of the missing fuel + €20 service fee.
Fines & Administrative Penalties
Fines and administrative penalties arising from violations of the Highway Code during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the Renter. If the violation results in the removal of the vehicle’s number plates and/or registration certificate, the Renter will be charged accordingly.
Ferry Transportation
Vehicles may not be transported by ferry without the prior written approval/consent of Bros Cars. If transportation of the vehicle by ferry is required, the Renter must inform Bros Cars upon collection of the vehicle; otherwise, Bros Cars may impose an additional charge.
Vehicle Breakdown
In the event of a mechanical breakdown or accident, the Renter is required to immediately transport the vehicle to a location indicated by Bros Cars at their own expense, if the vehicle cannot be transported through roadside assistance.
Rental Extension
If the Renter wishes to keep the rental vehicle for longer than the period originally agreed, they must contact the Bros Cars branch from which they collected the vehicle to check whether this is possible and have the rental extension recorded in the Rental Agreement.
Vehicle Return
The vehicle must be returned to the agreed return location and only to that location. Otherwise, the Renter will be charged the vehicle recovery costs. The Renter will be responsible for the vehicle cleaning costs if, upon return, the vehicle is excessively (unusually) dirty.
No refunds will be provided in the event of late collection, early return, or unused rental days.
General Terms for Vehicle Use:
- Subletting or allowing any third party to use the vehicle requires the prior written consent of Bros Cars. The transportation of third-party persons or goods for payment is not permitted.
- The Renter and the drivers acknowledge that the vehicle is equipped with a satellite tracking system and authorize the Lessor to activate it at any time, at the Lessor’s sole discretion.
- Standard vehicles, excluding jeep-type vehicles, are prohibited from being driven on unpaved roads.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or medication/substances is prohibited.
- The transportation of dangerous or illegal goods is prohibited.
- Use of the vehicle for any type of race or competition is prohibited.
- The transportation of pets in the rental vehicle is permitted only upon prior arrangement at the time of booking, at no additional charge, provided that the pet is kept at all times in a cage or suitable carrier. For hygiene reasons, the vehicle must be returned in its original condition. If professional deep cleaning is required, the Renter will be charged €100.
Payment Methods
You have two payment options available:
- Payment of a 30% deposit at the time of booking by credit/debit card or bank transfer, with the remaining balance payable upon vehicle collection by cash or credit/debit card.
- Payment of the full amount at the time of booking by credit/debit card or bank transfer.
Bros Cars accepts most major credit cards, including Visa, American Express and Mastercard.
VAT is included in the prices for all vehicle rentals.
Vehicle Rental with Basic Insurance Package & Security Deposit
For rentals with the basic insurance package, the Renter is required to have a credit card. Upon collection of the vehicle, a security deposit will be held on the Renter’s credit card and will be released in full at the end of the rental, provided that no additional charges arise. The release of the held amount may take up to 15 business days, depending on the card-issuing bank. The amount of the security deposit varies depending on the vehicle category.
Vehicle Rental with Full Insurance Package, No Security Deposit Required
Renting a vehicle without a security deposit and without requiring a credit card is available only when the full insurance coverage option is selected and the full rental amount is prepaid upon booking. Full insurance coverage is subject to an additional charge, which varies depending on the vehicle category and is displayed during the booking process.
In certain cases, this option may not be available for vehicles in specific categories, for which a security deposit will be required.
Our company reserves the right, whenever it considers it necessary, to request a credit card even in cases not described above.
Cancellations
In the event of cancellation of a booking less than 48 hours before the scheduled rental date, the amount paid will not be refunded.
For the months of July and August, deposits are non-refundable.
Vehicle Insurance Policy
There are two insurance package options available when renting a vehicle: basic and full.
When the basic package is selected, a security deposit must be provided by credit card. The amount varies depending on the vehicle category.
When the full package is selected, there is an additional daily charge, which varies depending on the vehicle category, and no security deposit is required. This insurance package is optional and can be selected either during the booking process or later, upon vehicle collection.
The waiver of the security deposit may not apply to certain vehicle categories or in cases at the discretion of the Lessor.

No insurance package covers the damages listed below in the “Liability for Damages” section.
None of the above insurance coverage applies to accidents for which the Renter has not notified Bros Cars and has not filed/submitted the relevant accident report as required by Greek law, regardless of whether the Renter was at fault. Any damage to or loss of the vehicle must be paid immediately by the Renter, even if they are covered by insurance provided through their debit/credit card. In such cases, the Renter is required to pay Bros Cars the full cost of repairing or replacing the vehicle.
Accident administration fee (IAF): The driver is charged €30 to cover accident-related administrative expenses, regardless of whether they were at fault. This amount is non-refundable under any circumstances.
